The three monuments that are pictured just inside the gate reflect the heritage of the site. The center one recognizes the role that the founders played in establishing Methodism starting in 1839. Following decorating graves, the worship service and the business meeting, some of the family continued the tradition of First Day of the Year to play in the water.
